PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Controller will be responsible for the accounting team in Ohio and provide financial support to the Finance Director and senior management with economic decisions regarding the company's future. This role will adhere to standard operating procedures associated with SOX compliance, audits, and government contracts. The Controller will establish and maintain systems that verify the integrity of all processes, controls, and data to enhance company value. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • All aspects of financial reporting, including monthly results, quarterly results, and annual submissions for an SEC listed company
  • Continual improvement in the accuracy of sales forecasts, monthly rolling financial forecasts, and cash forecasts.
  • Support the Finance Director in the preparation of the annual budget and strategy plans that supports the Division’s growth
  • Adherence to standard operating procedures associated with SOX compliance, ensuring all internal controls and procedures are performed and maintained, ensuring 100% SOX compliance
  • Providing timely, relevant, and accurate analysis of business performance, against budget, forecast and prior years; and maintaining standard operating procedures for the above
  • Assuming responsibility for maintaining all inventory movement and reconciliation models
  • Performing a detailed review of both volume and value of inventory monthly
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating standard product costing and valuation of inventory.
  • Key member of the ERP implementation steering committee to ensure the project is on time and on budget
  • Oversee the activities associated with disbursements ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, employee expense reports, cash control, payroll processing and tax compliance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, credit approval, etc.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • Experience in SOX compliance preferred but not required
  • Cost accounting experience preferred
  • 3-5 years manufacturing accounting experience required
  • 3-5 years experience managing an accounting team required
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Experienced in ERP systems
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and communication skills
  • Results driven
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work with and/or lead teams 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 
  • The majority of this job operates in a clerical office setting. Ability to work in and around a manufacturing setting is a must. The role will mostly use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets.
  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand
