JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE:  Maintenance Technician                                                                FLSA STATUS: Hourly

Luxfer Magtech specializes in developing, manufacturing, and supplying a broad range of products that safeguard and protect, ranging from flameless ration heaters that give our U.S. Military a hot meal; innovative chemical response kits designed to detect and decontaminate chemical warfare agents; to nutritious hot food and beverage options for militaries and first responders.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:  This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of production equipment, working both with and without drawings and specs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Installs new equipment/machinery as required.
  • Diagnoses problems with existing equipment/machinery including. Performs both mechanical and electric repairs on all equipment/machinery using blueprints, schematics, diagrams, etc.
  • Performs all fabrication, electrical repairs, including installation and service of single phase and 480 volt – 3-phase electric.
  • Maintains and repairs all plant and office facilities in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Performs monthly P.M.S..
  • Responsible for reporting material and parts usage for the department; reports all new parts requests.
  • Follows all Company safety procedures, safe work, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Participates in and supports the Company’s Continuous Improvement programs.
  • Replace, fix, or realign machine parts and accessories in line with production specifications or give recommendations to supervisor on repair requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Able to troubleshoot industrial equipment
  • General fabrication ability
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g., constant use of PPE, LOTO, etc.)
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Teamwork, strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • At least four (4) years’ experience in an industrial environment or equivalent combination of education or training beyond high school level in a technical field.
  • Must pass pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol test.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds, bend or stoop
  • Frequent repetitive motions such as bending, twisting, lifting, walking, reaching, stooping, frequent use of stairs; must be able to climb ladders Must be able to regularly reach with hands/arms and speak clearly/hear; required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel
  • Able to work at heights up to 50 feet
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
