Electrical/Maintenance Technician

Who is Luxfer Magtech?  Glad you asked.  Luxfer Magtech manufactures products that safeguard and protect:  our troops, first responders and those that are in need after a disaster strikes.  We make flameless ration heaters that heat the meal for a soldier in the field.  These same FRHs are used to heat our self-heating HeaterMeals®.  In times of crisis, we supply meals to the Red Cross and other first responders to give to those in need so they can have a hot meal. We are looking for an Electrical Mechanical Maintenance Technician.  In this position the successful candidate would perform highly diversified duties including: installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining production equipment.  All duties should be performed in accordance with appropriate safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes.  The maintenance techs work closely with machine operators and production supervisors to support the achievement of the company’s business and production goals and objectives.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills needed to work as a team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Install new equipment/machinery as required. 
  • Diagnoses problems with existing equipment/machinery including. Performs both mechanical and electric repairs on all equipment/machinery using blueprints, schematics, diagrams, etc. 
  • Performs fabrication, electrical repairs, and installation and service of single phase and 480 volt – 3-phase electric. 
  • Knowledge of PLC, Robotic controls and HD Screen systems.
  • Maintains and repairs all plant and office facilities in an efficient and safe manner. 
  • Responsible for reporting material and parts usage for the department; reports all new parts requests. 
  • Follows all Company safety procedures, safe work and good housekeeping practices. 
  • Participates in and supports the Company’s Continuous Improvement programs. 
  • Replace, fix or realign machine parts and accessories in line with production specifications or give recommendations to supervisor on repair requirements 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates or Technical Degree preferred
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
  • Analytical skills, including use of common precision measuring instruments and gauges.
  • Attention to detail
  • Teamwork, strong communication and problem-solving skill
  • 4 years (minimum) experience in an industrial environment.  
  • Electrical/mechanical maintenance experience repairing high speed production machinery
  • Must be familiar with NEC
  • Excellent understanding of Electrical/PLC with certification
  • HVAC diagnostic and repair experience a plus
