Operations Manager

Luxfer Magtech is currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to oversee the Ohio operations. 

This position will be based in Cincinnati, OH and will report to the Vice – President General Manager.

The Operations Manager will ensure the successful development and implementation of Luxfer Magtech’s strategic operational plans.  This position directs teams to ensure safety and ‘Customer First’ focus is maintained while implementing and enforcing world-class manufacturing metrics.  It will oversee operations to ensure that production is completed at the lowest cost and that inventories are utilized to maximize profitability.  The Operations Manager will ensure that personnel are managed properly in accordance with Luxfer values and objectives. This position works closely with Sales to ensure customer expectations are met and/or exceeded and manage production planning to achieve minimum inventories and short lead times.

  • Must be an agent for positive changeability to influence/lead sites.
  • Must maintain a standard of World Class Safety Performance.
  • Proven negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Drive specific initiatives to achieve cost reductions through Lean Manufacturing.
  • Successful delivery of the Annual Business Plan.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks at multiple sites effectively.
  • Develops and implements plans for control of labor efficiency, production standards, engineering effectiveness, and budgets.
  • Develops plans for new areas of technology for manufacturing.
  • Confers with and guides direct reports in respect to production, volume, costs, quality, and delivery dates.
  • Coaches assigned personnel to improve personal performance, identify problems and opportunities, and recommends operation improvements.
  • Assists in developing plans and objectives for Luxfer Magtech in support of the Company’s long-range plans.
  • Occasional travel to other Luxfer Magtech sites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • BS in Engineering or Business
  • Advanced Business degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 – 10 years “hands-on” Operations management experience.
  • 3 + years’ experience as a member of a senior staff team in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be well organized and able to efficiently and effectively manage numerous complex activities simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities.
  • Well-developed communication skills (written and oral) and effective interpersonal skills
